Start it @KBC

Start it @KBC

In October 2017, more than 160 startups shared their innovative business ideas in an attempt to overwhelm the jury and become part of Belgium’s biggest start-up community. After a stressy pitchday in Antwerp, Smoothy — together with 40 other amazing startups — was selected to join the Start it @KBC accelerator program.

Student-entrepreneur of the year

Student-entrepreneur of the year

Every year, self-employment organisation Unizo organises a contest for the title of best student-entrepreneur of the year. In order to win this title you have to convince a professional jury of the strength of your startup. During the provincial selections I came out as the best student-entrepreneur of Limburg. During the national final I made it to the fourth place.

We R Motion

We R Motion

Together with my friend Joren Ruts, who shares the same passion for the art of storytelling as me, I founded a company called We R Motion. The goal of this non-profit company was to come up with captivating stories and tell them through lights and shadows. However, after a few successful video productions, we had to put We R Motion on hold, due to a lack of spare time.

Tikkit

Tikkit

From the year 2013 until 2014, I was part of an event agency specialized in organizing big nightlife events. For these events, we needed an easy and secure way to sell online tickets. Besides this, we also needed an efficient solution to validate these tickets at the entrance of the event. Instead of choosing for an existing solution, I built my own system, which I later commercialized under the name Tikkit.

Get Active

Get Active was my first company, which I founded at the age of 16. Back in 2012, I was developing websites for local businesses, but later my focus shifted to photography. First I worked as a press photographer for multiple news agencies. Later I discovered the challenging world of event photography.

Geelse atletiekclub

After being an athlete for 2 years myself, I decided to take my career at the Geelse Atletiekclub a step further. I got a degree as "aspirant-initiator" and became a coach. In addition to coaching, I organized and coordinated multiple training camps and public sports events.
